Information collected

WikiTactics uses Google Analytics 4 page views and a deterministic one-percent Core Web Vitals sample to understand which pages work and where the site is slow. Tears of Metal traffic is recorded in the shared WikiTactics analytics property.

If you sign in or submit feedback, those requests are handled securely by id.wikitactics.com. Feedback may include the name, email, message, and wiki page context you choose to provide.

Patch alerts

Patch alerts are optional. When you subscribe, WikiTactics stores your email address and the wiki you selected to send future patch notes and material game updates. Your address is not public, and every alert includes an unsubscribe link.

Guide accounts and profiles

Submitting a guide requires a shared WikiTactics account. Existing GameDB accounts use the same underlying account, so no new registration is required. WikiTactics stores the guide with an internal account ID so it can be managed from that account; your email is not included in the guide record. Author profiles are private by default. If you make a profile public, your chosen display name, profile picture, bio, and guides you choose to list can appear across GameDB and WikiTactics wikis. You can switch the profile back to private, hide individual guides, and edit or remove profile details in account settings.

GameDB Companion data

The installed GameDB Companion watches Tears of Metal's standard data folder for lineLog CSV files. The manual browser importer can read files you select. In both paths, the embedded player or session identifier is discarded on the device before a normalized run is queued.

WikiTactics receives allowlisted run, battle, battlefield, hero, build item, shop choice, upgrade, currency, damage, healing, hazard, objective, and outcome facts with one-way per-run and build fingerprints for deduplication. Raw log bytes, the embedded player or session identifier, local file names, file paths, and capture dates are not sent to WikiTactics.

The installed Companion creates a random installation ID and stores its signed device token using Windows credential protection. It does not use a hardware fingerprint and does not require an account. The public companion exposes only grouped metrics with sample sizes and confidence ranges, never raw rows for individual runs.

Information not published

The public wiki contains no local machine paths, user data, private extraction records, credentials, raw game files, or public audio catalogue.
